The Million Barrel Museum
Monahans has within its city limits the Million Barrel Museum. The tank was built in 1928 to hold one million barrels of crude oil. It is now used for various community gatherings, such as Relay for Life and outdoor concerts. The Holman House, a former stagecoach station and hotel, is also located at the Million Barrel Museum along with the 1928 Monahans Jail and farm, oil and railroad equipment from the early 1900s.
Monahans Sandhills State Park
